If you're headed to Kyushu and a fan of all things cute, be sure to add Harmonyland to your travel itinerary. It's a theme park dedicated to the various Sanrio characters including Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll and My Melody, and makes for the perfect spot to get your kawaii fix.
There are live shows that take place daily, plenty of rides, and opportunities to have photos with your favorite Sanrio characters. If you want a great view out over the surrounding landscape, try the Ferris wheel - you may even be lucky enough to hop into a Hello Kitty carriage!
Hours for Harmonyland differ depending on the season, and closure days also change from month to month, so be sure to check their website to ensure the park is open when you plan to visit.

Harmonyland is located in Oita Prefecture, approximately a 30-minute drive from either Beppu Station or Oita Airport respectively. If you're headed to Harmonyland via public transportation, the closest stations are either Kitsuki Station or Yokoku Station on the JR Nippo Main Line. From either station, Harmonyland is approximately a 10 minute taxi ride away.
