There is always something to look forward to during summer and autumn in Mashiko. The annual Sunflower and Cosmos Festival is held at the outskirts of Mashiko Town every second week of August for sunflowers and every second week of October for cosmos.
The fields are about 10 hectares in size for the sunflowers and 13 hectares for the cosmos. Big! It's a stress reliever for nature lovers and photograph enthusiasts. Entrance and parking is free. And you can pick some flowers from the fields and take them home for free too.
