Fans of Miffy will soon have a new excuse to indulge in sweets, as Courtyard by Marriott Nagoya launches its first-ever Miffy collaboration afternoon tea this summer.

Created by Dutch artist Dick Bruna in 1955, Miffy (known as “Usako-chan” in Japan) has become one of the world’s most beloved children’s characters thanks to her minimalist design, gentle storytelling and timeless charm. The little white rabbit remains hugely popular in Japan, where themed cafés, pop-ups and limited-edition collaborations regularly draw fans of all ages.

Running from June 1st to August 31st, the limited-time Miffy Afternoon Tea Set transforms the hotel’s first-floor lounge into a celebration of the character’s world. Timed to coincide with Miffy’s June 21st birthday, the menu features an array of colorful sweets and savory dishes inspired by the iconic bunny.

Guests can expect treats such as lemon macarons, Miffy icing cookies, Miffy langue de chat biscuits, custard pudding, mango and coconut ensemble desserts, and a candle roll cake. Savory offerings include Dutch-style pita bread sandwiches, bitterballen and chilled carrot and apple potage, alongside freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and marmalade.

Each guest ordering the afternoon tea will also receive a limited-edition original towel handkerchief featuring an exclusive Courtyard by Marriott Nagoya x Miffy design.

The afternoon tea is priced at 6,500 JPY per person, while a separate Miffy-themed cake set with rare cheesecake and tea or coffee will also be available for 1,800 JPY. Reservations are required, and they can be made via the official event website here.
