Moss phlox starts blooming when the petals of the cherry blossom starts to fall. Every year from the middle of April, the Shibazakura (moss phlox or moss pink) Park in Misato is open for just one month. Visitors from near and far come here to be surrounded by tens of thousands of brightly hued moss phlox.
Although you wouldn't see from the pictures taken, there are several temporary stalls, with artisans and local farmers displaying handmade creative products and fresh produce. A variety of moss phlox are also for sale, so you can decorate your own garden with these resilient and easy to grow flowers.
Even though the sakura blooming on a tree is beautiful, a carpet of blooming sakura is a wonderful experience. Why not relax with a stroll around the park, surrounded by fresh air and the scenery of these warm blushing flowers?
