Amanohashidate sandbar is an off the beaten path place you can visit when travelling to Kyoto. Kyoto is one of the top destinations people travel to when coming to Japan, however with more and more tourists coming in each year and going to the same tourist spots, it's hard to enjoy Kyoto without having to be surrounded by crowds.

So, if you are like me and you want to enjoy travelling away from the big crowds then try going to Amanohashidate in the northern part of Kyoto. There are trains and direct buses departing from Kyoto and Osaka and the best part is you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Japanese countryside.
