A Day on Mt Yufu

Mt Yufu looms large over the town of Yufuin in Oita prefecture. Despite how imposing it looks, it's an enjoyable hike to reach the dual summits of this famous mountain. If you hit the trails when the weather is nice, you'll be rewarded with stellar views from the trail of the surrounding (long-dormant) volcanoes. In autumn, the hillside is peppered with changing maple leaves.
