When it’s your first full day in Tokyo and you’re still suffering jet lag, be prepared to get lost, just as I was when I found the Sohoin Buddhist temple, hidden in this lovely little corner of Machida.

One of the best things about getting lost and accidentally coming upon small temples like this is that they’re so quiet, as this one is, despite its being right in the centre of Machida. It’s always nice to find a little bit of peace in such a busy city like Tokyo.
