２年前の１１月末に訪れた箱根美術館の紅葉、２回目は神仙郷の特別公開エリアだ。

日光殿が１１月のみの特別公開エリアで、吉田五十八氏の設計による建物、1,000人の収容人員を誇る。　神仙郷の庭園や建築美とともに、演芸を楽しむ目的で建造されたものだが、前庭に広がる明るい芝生やなだらかな苑路、龍頭の瀧や７０トン以上もある巨石を配置した池は見どころ充分。紅葉のピークは既に過ぎていたようだが、池に浮かぶ色とりどりの落葉は錦絵の光景だった。借景を用いた石楽園も土日祝と８，１１月限定公開エリア。いずれも紅葉の箱根美術館の名に恥じない見事な庭園だった。
