This autumn, Hotel New Otani Makuhari is transforming its penthouse lounge into a spot where Halloween meets the flavors of the season. Perched 100 meters above ground, the café offers sweeping views of Tokyo Bay and even Mount Fuji on clear days, making it a spectacular setting for a seasonal indulgence.

The Halloween Afternoon Tea Set is a three-tiered showcase of sweet and savory items. The top tier highlights the taste of autumn with creations such as a black chestnut shortcake, choux Mont Blanc layered with chestnut cream, and pistachio macarons shaped like monsters. Signature New Otani favorites, including the super melon shortcake, also make an appearance.

The middle tier includes goodies like a creamy marron panna cotta, grape jelly, and warm chestnut scones with clotted cream and jam. Savory offerings are found on the lower tier, ranging from a fig and smoky beef croissant sandwich to a Japanese-style braised beef gratin and a black bun wagyu burger designed with a Halloween look.

Adding to the fun, guests are treated to a chestnut parfait styled as a friendly monster. A wide selection of teas, including Darjeeling, Assam, and seasonal blends, rounds out the experience.

The set is available daily from September through October, priced at 6,600 JPY per person for a 120-minute seating or 7,150 JPY for a guaranteed window table with a toast drink. Reservations are required and can be made directly with Bay Court Café by phone or through the hotel’s website.
