The history of whisky and spirits in Japan is a relatively recent phenomenon compared to traditional whisky-producing countries like Scotland and Ireland. However, Japan has rapidly gained international acclaim for its high-quality whiskies, showcasing a unique blend of tradition, innovation, and meticulous craftsmanship.
The Whisky and Spirits Festival in Yokohama is set to showcase not only Western-originating liquors such as whisky and gin, but also Japanese shochu and awamori, so it's bound to be an interesting event no matter what your favorite drink is.
