After successful stints in both Tokyo and Fukuoka, the popular Ukiyo-e Immersive Art event is headed to Osaka in early 2026. This digital art event transforms over 300 ukiyo-e masterpieces by renowned artists such as Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige into immersive 3D experiences through 3DCG animation and projection mapping.
Spanning 10 themed areas, visitors will be able to explore Edo-period art in a vibrant, interactive space. Alongside digital works, the exhibition also features historical prints, reprints, and in-depth insights into the culture and history of ukiyo-e. Best of all, photography is encouraged at the event, so you can snap away to your heart's content.
Please note that ticketing information for the event has not yet been released. The estimated timeframe for this is mid-November, so be sure to keep an eye on the official website here.
