Pottery of Japan Exhibition 2022

From Jomon Earthenware to modern Kyo ware

日付: Jan 5th - Feb 13th 2022

The history of pottery in Japan dates back to the Jomon period (10,500–300 BC), and it has been an important part of Japanese culture since then. From the rise of the tea ceremony's importance in the Momoyama period (1568 - 1600) through to color painting on pottery in the early Edo period, the industry has been revitalized time and time again.

A special exhibition taking place at the Yamato Bunkakan will explore Japan's pottery from the Jomon to Edo periods along with modern Kyō ware, highlighting the artform's evolving techniques and designs.

Admission to the event is priced at ¥ 630, and no advance reservations are required.

行き方

The Yamato Bunkakan is located approximately seven minutes on foot from Gakuemmae Station, which is served by the Kintetsu Nara line. The station is under 10 minutes from Nara Station, and around 25 minutes from Osaka Namba Station.

For those who plan to drive to the venue, on-site parking is available for 40 vehicles.
