Lanterns have long been used in various cultures as a way of providing light, for warding off evil spirits, and for making wishes or prayers. The Senshu Beach Lantern Festival takes place in early summer, and over 1,000 lanterns will decorate the waterfront alongside illuminated palm trees.
The event will also have music performances, a night market with a wide variety of handmade items, and several food trucks if you want to grab a bite to eat.
